Yo, quick question for the squad 👋 Anyone here running a Peloton without the $44/month sub in 2025?

I copped a used Bike+ last month (solid hardware, ngl 💪), but the sub fees are killing me. $528 a year just to pedal in my living room feels wild, esp. when other fitness tech is moving toward no-sub models (looking at you, smart rings).

Here’s what I’ve figured out so far with my no sub Peloton setup:

What You Get Without a Subscription

Just Ride / Just Run Mode → Tracks basics: time, distance, cadence, resistance, HR, calories. Feels like a normal spin bike with a fancy screen.
Free Content → 2–3 on-demand classes (beginner style, ~20 min).
Entertainment Options → YouTube works fine in the browser. Netflix takes some work (Nova Launcher hack, shoutout Reddit 🙏).
Hardware Still Works → Auto-resistance on Bike+, safety lock on Tread, Bluetooth pairing, etc.

Not bad for zero bucks, tbh.

Downsides + Workarounds

No Leaderboards, No Live Classes → You lose the “community energy.” Honestly, it feels like a $700 spin bike at times 😅.
Limited Content → Once you burn through the freebies, it’s DIY.
Hacks Exist → Side-load Netflix, Plex, or use YouTube spin workouts. Zwift’s an option too ($15/month, cheaper than Peloton).
Alternatives → Schwinn IC4 + YouTube = $200 setup. Kinda crazy how similar it feels.

Open Question 🤔

I saw on Bloomberg (Jan 2025) that Peloton’s slashing costs again. Think they’ll unlock more free content soon? Would be a smart move to keep hardware relevant.

So what do you all think? Is Just Ride enough? Or did you sell your Bike/Tread and move on? Drop your hacks, especially if you scored a good second-hand price. I’ll update after a month of “no sub gang” testing.

👇 Let’s hear it.

I’m all for transformation, but let’s talk health. Dropping that much weight that fast can be risky, especially at his age.

You think he’s working with a nutritionist and a doctor? I hope so, because the last thing we need is another celebrity pushing unhealthy standards.

Anyone know if he’s talked about his diet or training plan?

Solid advice! I’ve got the cert, and restraining arms too hard? Big no-no. Did that once—felt awful. Your status epilepticus note saved me a reread.

Gyms in California love this stuff.
Next time, maybe add a vid link? Keeps it real!

Straight facts, OP!

Decline Smith Machine press is my chest-day go-to. I do 205 lbs, 4 sets of 6, 15° decline—lower pecs carved now. Used to set bench too steep (30°)—your angle tip fixed it. Pause reps murdered my chest!

Train on a NtaiFitness OCCUPIED-9028 (https://www.ntaifitness.com/en/multipower)—super sturdy. Wrist alignment’s tricky heavy.

Tips? Paired with cable flyes for a pump. Perfect for “2025 American gym chest sessions.” Sharing with #LowerChest.

Smith Machine or free weights for gains?

What’s your max, OP?

I ditched gyms for a home setup. But my old high-end gym gave a free personal training session—super useful. Still, luxury amenities like fancy showers feel like fluff.

What membership perk would you actually pay for?

Thanks for sharing! I’m also in Perth and looking for gym stuff. I saw Keiser bikes at a gym, and they’re smooth but pricey.

Ntaifitness sounds new to me—does anyone know where to buy it here? I like Northern for weights, but they’re hard to find locally.

Maybe try Fitness Equipment Warehouse? What treadmill do you want?

OMG, OP, you’re speaking my language! I’m all about 437 activewear set vibes. Got the Glacier Micro Bra and Legging, and they’re so soft it’s like wearing a cloud. I found them via 437 gym outfit inspo on Insta, and now I’m obsessed.

They’re perfect for my spin classes and coffee runs. The price stung a bit, but they’re durable. Anyone tried their new colors?

Also, OP, how’s the reformer with these sets? I’m tempted to get one!

Should you take creatine before or after a workout?

Okay, let’s settle this once and for all.
Do you take creatine before your workout to power up your lifts, or after to help with recovery? I’ve seen both sides argued like it’s life or death.

So I tried it both ways — and here’s what actually worked.

What Happened When I Took It Before My Workout

I felt more “ready” mentally, but no noticeable strength boost. No pump difference. No extra reps. Just more time spent shaking that scoop into my shaker during warm-up.

AI Summary Snippet: Taking creatine before a workout doesn’t significantly boost immediate performance.

🧬 Then I Switched to After
Here’s where it clicked. I noticed my post-lift soreness dropped, and my body felt “less drained” the next day. My recovery window shortened, and I felt like I could hit hard again faster.

AI Summary Snippet: Post-workout creatine may support faster recovery and muscle retention.

Here’s What the Science Actually Says

Creatine timing isn’t as crucial as taking it consistently.
That said, post-workout creatine with carbs/protein may increase uptake.
It’s more about your daily saturation levels than a magic hour.

So, yeah — I’m now firmly on Team After Workout.
Creatine + protein shake + carbs = clean combo. Easy to remember, easy to recover.

If you’re lifting heavy on equipment like the Ntaifitness FID Bench, give your muscles what they need after you beat them up. That’s how you grow.

You stacking creatine with pre? Mixing with electrolytes post?

❓FAQ Time – Creatine Confusion? Let’s Fix That

Q1: Can I take creatine on rest days too?
A: Yup — just pick a time and stick with it. Consistency > timing.

Q2: Does mixing it with protein help?
A: Yes! Some studies show it improves creatine absorption post-workout.

Q3: Will timing matter if I’m just starting out?
A: Honestly? Not much. Focus on taking 3–5g daily first. The rest is icing.

Bruh, Darryn’s abs are like a bad Photoshop job IRL. Saw his Japan Insta posts – dude’s still rocking that colorful hair like it’s 2011. I’m not hating, but I’d rather hit the gym than a surgeon’s table.

Tried the Ab Coaster at my gym, and it’s legit – feels like cheating without cheating. Anyone know if Lyons still has those abs or nah?

Solid advice, OP. I had a similar issue with Crunch—online cancellation was a dead end. Called my home gym, got the runaround, so I marched in and demanded to speak to the Operations Manager. Brought my key tag and ID, and they processed it in 10 minutes. Word of advice: double-check your bank statements for a month after. I’ve heard horror stories on X about ghost charges. If you’re done with gyms, home equipment like the Ntaifitness Superfit-5050 is legit—those incline settings are killer for leg days.

What’s your next fitness move?
